Re(de)fine – Repeat

This is the first Experimental Gameplay Project theme I worked on (April 2010) and finished in 6 days. This month’s theme is repeat. I chose to write another C#/XNA game for the PC, using technologies I was already familiar with. Re(de)fine is a 2D physics game revolving around gravity. The player left clicks to create gravity wells and tries to guide a ball towards a goal. The last well placed can be deleted by right clicking. The purpose of the game is to reduce the amount of wells and attempts that must be made to reach the goal. If a set of wells does not work, the user can reset the level and show the last set of wells made. This path can then be refined or completely redefined without using the last set as a guide. The (currently) 4 levels can be cycled with the up and down arrow keys. Download here.

Smart gameplay and unique use of the theme- hard and frustrating for the casual player to sit through though.
